ALA's Office of Education seeks to ensure every Latvian American the opportunity for learning the Latvian language, culture and history. It coordinates the activities of America's Latvian schools, cares for the continuing education needs of teachers, provides current teaching programs and educational materials. The office works closely with educational institutions in Latvia.

ALA's Publishing Office offers educational materials to satisfy the needs of Latvian schools around the world. Recently ALA has begun offering members various English language books about Latvia and Latvians (Publishing).

Over the years, the ALA Scholarship Fund has helped hundreds of Latvian American youths.
