ALA announces its 2013 English-language trips to Latvia

Tour Latvia in 2013 AND see the XXV Latvian Song and XV Dance Festival in Riga!

The „Hello, Latvia/Sveika, dzimtene!” trip will take place June 27 – July 11, 2013. The itinerary includes Latvia’s four historical provinces with the highlight of the trip the XXV Latvian Song and XV Dance Festival in Riga. The fee is $3,600 (double occupancy) and includes airfare to Riga and return from either Chicago or Newark, as well as transfers, tour transportation, hotels, all breakfasts, many meals, admission to museums,  attractions, and major concerts, as well as the services of a full-time guide who accompanies the group during the entire trip. Single supplement fee is $500.  Minimum 10, maximum 22 participants.  (You may arrange your own transportation and meet the group in Riga; land portion only is $2,400.) The Heritage Latvia” trip will take place June 27 – July 11, 2013. Heritage Latvia is an English-language trip for 13-15 year-olds of Latvian background who have an interest in seeing and learning about their grandparents’ homeland.  The trip featuring the XXV Latvian Song and SV Dance Festival . These festivals take place only every five years. The trip’s content and itinerary parallels ALA’s Latvian language tour for young people – „Sveika, Latvija!” - and includes meeting young people in Latvia, and seeing the country’s geographical, cultural and historical highlights, and many hands-on activities.   The fee is $3,100 and includes airfare to Riga from either Chicago or Newark.  Minimum number of participants – 10, maximum 20. Reserve your place by sending in an application (click on  „Heritage Latvia application”) and a $500 deposit.  Participants are accepted in the order their applications are received.
